The Trusted Environment
is a useful tool to share knowledge during the innovation process. Innovation is a complex process with much uncertainty. To come up with a working and safe product can be challenging. Especially when you are a pioneer and guidance in safety protocols do not yet exist. Sharing knowledge and information about safety aspects by different actors – e.g. other innovators and regulators – early in the innovation process can help you make a safe product. This tool guides you in creating a safe (technical) environment for sharing information and data. Originally developed for actors involved in nanotechnology, the tool is also applicable to other technologies.

- Finding solutions to safety issues.
Experise level required when you do it yourself:
- Not applicable
- Facilitator is needed to guide you through the whole process of self-assessment
- Consultant can advise and help you with the implementation
